Union hockey plays to draw with No. 3 North Dakota

The Union men's hockey team continued its run of strong play with a 2-2 tie at No. 3 North Dakota on Saturday in Grand Forks, N.D. The Dutchmen ran their unbeaten streak to four games and have won eight of 10. Union could vault into the national rankings after giving the Fighting Hawks everything they could handle. Colton Poolman deked Greg Campbell and wristed a shot past Union goaltender Jake Kupsky 14 minutes into the game to give North Dakota the lead. The damage could have been worse, but Kupsky made a spectacular sliding skate save later in the first period to fend off Johnny Simonson's backhander. It remained a one-goal game until Brett Supinski and Ryan Scarfo scored 22 seconds apart early in the third period.
