Another year, another hard-hitting tussle for the Cambridge football team in the Class D state final against Maple Grove. Just like last year, the Indians were just a bit better at producing in the crucial moments Friday afternoon.
This time around, overtime was not required. That does not mean Cambridge failed to be pushed hard by the Red Dragons.
"When things looked down, we were at our best," Cambridge senior quarterback Zack Rowland said.
Early in the fourth quarter, Rowland was intercepted by Easton Tanner and that miscue was returned for a 55-yard touchdown. Undaunted, Cambridge proceeded to grind out a 14-play, 68-yard response drive that resulted in a touchdown run from Colton Dean.
