The College of Saint Rose's men's basketball team was defeated 71-69 by Northern Michigan on Friday night in the first game of the Gary Miller Classic at the Hammermill Center in Erie, Pa. Junior Isaiah Johnson tipped in a layup with nine seconds left to give the Wildcats a victory over the Golden Knights. St. Rose trained 9-0 early, but Matt Cerutti tied it at 32 with less than minute left in the first half. Jack Jones made two free throws to put St. Rose up by two at halftime. Late in the second half, Jones tied the game at 69 with a 3-pointer. Cerutti, Shane Herrity and Jones finished with 12 points apiece and Julian Lipinski had 10.
