Cambridge As a freshman and sophomore, Max Hoffer had not yet grown enough to compete at the positions he envisioned himself playing as a member of the Cambridge varsity football team. A growth spurt, coupled with intense diligence in the weight room, helped Hoffer become a two-way starter for the Indians in the 2016 season — a campaign culminated with a thrilling 22-21 double overtime victory over Maple Grove in the Class D state championship game at the Syracuse Carrier Dome.
